Possible Clues:

• In the middle of the inspection, the promissory notes were found to be utterly implausible.
• Misleading details about debt
• Deceptive fungi picked up by one old American
• Seemingly plausible but wrong
• Superficially plausible
• Phoney copies us, phoney looking good initially
• Attractive at first sight with a note of promise, wearing glasses
• Small debts in the end mushroom up? That's could be true but it's not!
• Rough copies, American, misleading
