Possible Clues:

• Noisy insects
• Chirping insects
• Holly had these insects
• Insects that chirp in chimneys
• Nighttime chirpers
• They are chirpy although cold and with childish malnutrition evident
• Little creatures, many with a bone deficiency
• Do they sing in a batty sort of way, perhaps?
