• Gave birth in a stable
• Gave birth on a farm, say
• Had a little horse
• Had a colt
• By the sound of it, got an increase, enough to have made one a little hoarse, by the sound of it
• Gave birth, as on a ranch
• The mare gave birth with the sound of the sheep there
