Possible Clues:

• Made an overthrow, say
• Crossed the I's and dotted the T's, for example
• Lost money on "Jeopardy!" e.g.
• How the cockney got the sound he heard wrong
• Embarrassed after some hesitation, having got it wrong
• It was wrong for the cockney to have listened to this
• Cockney was informed, it's said, but made a mistake
• How the cockney got the sound that was wrong
• Queen, like one in Through the Looking Glass, went wrong
• If the cockney had done this, by the sound of it, he would have done wrong
