Possible Clues:

• Not stretchy
• Non-stretch
• Intolerant etc in sail at sea
• Not giving in, knock back beer with most of staff
• Act I lines sadly lacking in flexibility
• Having no give
• Unyielding
• Not springy
• When scrubbed it is clean and stiff
• Stiff drink required after fluffing of line, lid off cognac!
