Possible Clues:

• Supplements that might cause grumbling?
• Writer's additions that may be cut out in the theatre
• Extra bits of written material I'd pen with space free
• A quiet writer gambles with supplementary pages
• A couple of pages to finish, sweet things in final parts of book?
• Writer gambles on a page being sufficient for additional sections
• Writers' additions? They may be taken out in the theatre
