Possible Clues:

• Of a wound, to discharge liquid
• Ooze pus
• By the sound of it, eat, you reckon, and go to the bad
• There must be something the matter to make one eat up up at speed
• If it does this there's something the matter there
• Turn up with the matter and overrate how bad it may get
