Possible Clues:

• Slightly off-colour, or laid up and extremely poorly
• Like thick cords
• Off colour, or bunged up and extremely pasty
• Of dubious quality, like some painters?
• Long and fibrous, like a vine
• Forming viscid threads
• Bad quality
• Returning some ivory-porcelain that is substandard
• Stringy Rovers' striker eats a bit of pasta
• Like a twisted cord that's not very good
