Possible Clues:

• Poor at painting, I strain badly and twitch
• Lacking in drawing power?
• In painting is nervous reaction – but that's to lack appreciation of it
• Lacking creative talent; intact iris (anagram)
• Uncommonly it can stir one inside lacking aesthetic sensibility
• Near the bottom of the drawers?
